Peter Green is a British rock guitarist and the founder of the American band Fleetwood Mac. Green played lead in Peter Barden’s band, Peter B’s Looners in 1966. He was ranked 38th in Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time”. Along with a lifetime of success has come a lifetime of struggling with mental illness.Peter Green has discussed his experiences with schizophrenia publicly while he was seemingly on top of the world with his band,Green’s personal life started to spiral out of control in the early 1970s.

Eating Disorders Are Not a Choice

Demi Lovato says it’s possible to live well with mental illness- she tells fans, “I’m Living Proof. Demi Lovato opens up about her struggle with this devastating eating disorder in her new documentary and how it changed her life. She added: “Learning to love my body the way it is, is challenging but life changing. Giving up my eating disorder has been the most challenging journey of my life but I work every day towards solid recovery even if I mess up sometimes. Today I’m feeling strong. You all can do it too. It is possible,” Demi Lovato has said in the documentary. In a revealing interview with American Way magazine last year, Lovato revealed that she began binge-eating and purging which started in her youth and took over her life. She has traced these issues back to her early childhood. Her grandmother and mother battled with eating disorders and her father fought alcoholism, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

I Don’t Need Alcohol To Make Bad Decisions

Daniel Jacob Radcliffe is an English actor and producer. He is known for playing the titular protagonist in the Harry Potter film series. Real-life challenges soon started affecting his career namely his addiction to alcohol. He mentioned that ‘drinking was unhealthy and damaging to anybody and my social life’ which led him to become ‘a recluse at 20’, in a 2012 interview published in shortlist magazine. Now despite being sober, Radcliffe admits it’s not easy to maintain sobriety at events where alcohol is served. He also said that one of the greatest lessons he’s learned is that he had to want a sober life for himself & he needed to stop himself. Stopping from alcohol has shown him a world of happiness that he didn’t think was possible.

Understanding Alzheimer's Disease

September is World Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. It is the international campaign by Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) every September to raise awareness and challenge stigma that surrounds dementia. Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia will play a host to the 21st ADI Asia Pacific Regional Conference 2019 on 16-18 August 2019 at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Conference and Exhibition will showcase scientific research and advances progress and developments in technology and innovation, dementia care and health care practices, inspired community initiatives and the stories of persons with dementia as well as their caregivers.

The ‘struggle and pain is real’

There is hope for people with depression. 

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has said the support he received after opening up about his mental health issues have been overwhelming. He has opened up about his secret battle with depression which left him ‘devastated’ and crying constantly; one month after he witnessed his mother’s attempted suicide when he was 15. He discussed the darkest time of his life in a new interview with The Express. He said ‘struggle and pain is real’.  Throughout his life Dwayne said he’s battled that beast of depression more than once.

People who are on the autism spectrum are often misunderstood. While the common belief is that those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are not smart or can’t have successful life, this couldn’t be more wrong. In Hollywood, there are a handful of celebrities who are on the spectrum and have found success. When we think about famous physicians and scientists, who have made the revolutionary changes in the world of modern physics Albert Einstein is surely one that comes to mind. He had a number of characteristics have led to conclusions that he appears somewhere on the autism spectrum.

What is Bipolar Disorder

In recent months, several celebrities have brought the discussion of bipolar disorder and mental health to the headlines. These celebrities include Demi Lovato, Mariah Carey and Kanye West. Kanye revealed his battle with bipolar on his new album, ‘Ye’. On his new album ‘Ye’, West makes reference to living with bipolar disorder, dismissing the concept of the condition as a disability and describing it as “superpower”. West revealed he has bipolar disorder, and he doesn’t view it as a disadvantage.
