Shankar is a registered Counselling Psychologist with the National Board of Counsellors. Shankar administers individual, couples counseling, and family therapy, group therapy and support groups. The focus of his therapy is on self-discovery, behavioral change, psycho-social insight, change management, behavioral shifts, symptom relief and seeking existential meaning. His expertise are in clinical trauma, family therapy, substance addiction, depression, anxiety, marital struggles ,rebuilding post affair and divorce transitions, group therapy, psychotherapy counselling, and support groups. He is also certified to administer EMDR therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Therapy (NLP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Therapy and Marital Therapy. He uses a mixed modality in dealing with client concerns and presenting problems, recognizing that multi modalities serves treatment efficacy better.
Shankar also conducts workshops, seminars and also lectures for psychology related areas in multiple universities. This provides a pragmatic and holistic approach to therapy , teaching and training.
